Happy Holidays!

GREETINGS
GREETINGS
GREETINGS
to All! from Eric, Lynn & Zak

2003 was another BIG year for Lynn. She started building Giant 12 foot puppets with the community. She created a festival celebrating tolerance and diversity in Phoenixville where the puppets marched, and did another puppet build for the Open Air Festival at Kientalerhof in Switzerland. While in Switzerland she co-created a mural with her friend Marlise. The two of them will be offering a course in Switzerland entitled Art for People- with the belief that everyone has creative potential. Lynn was granted a citizen recognition award from the mayor and also received recognition certificates from the PA Senator and a Champion of the Community Award. Lynn is now learning the importance of politics.

Zachary has been growing like a beanstalk and has continued his passion for reading as well. In February, Lynn returned from an Alabama conference on community Arts, and found him eating peas and lima beans! Zak played his first badminton tourney this April, the Maryland Juniors and proceeded on to New England Juniors in June where he reached the finals in both boys Under 11 doubles and U11 Mixed Doubles! Zak and his friend Henry performed in the school lip-synch show with a radical save-the-environment tune entitled Clean Up the Planet from the Miller’s 1998 release “Miss Betty’s Jeep”. Many thoughts and prayers go out to Miss Betty who passed away this Fall. Eric and Zak got some badminton training with world class coach Lawrence Chew while staying in Lausanne in July.

Eric ran the first Mid-Atlantic Juniors in December, where Zak won the U11 Mixed and reached the finals in boys doubles with partner Shaun Tung. As part of the tourney prep, Eric and Zak learned the fine art of custom mug making, and cranked out over 100 mugs for tourney prizes. Zak also won a free racquet in the serving booth contest. Zak continues his trumpet and is developing his improv skills. He teamed up with his new cousin, agent Jordan, for a double agent ring-bear ceremony for Raoul and Jill's wedding in August in Olympia.

Eric finally passed the last round of doctoral preliminary exams for Bryn Mawr in March and has been recouping ever since. He’s looking forward to submitting his dissertation proposal this coming spring. In the meantime he’s been chairing the Pennsylvania Badminton Association and working with a biofeedback software development project team. Eric was pleased to be able to spend several days working on his Jazzgrass CD project following the September Music for People workshop in Switzerland and hopes to maintain that momentum to get some pre-production cuts out for review soon.

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, prosperous and magical 2004!
Eric, Lynn and Zak
