(Those of you viewing on the web are getting a sneak preview as we were late (again) sending out cards)- just get used to it!
Itıs been another eventful year for the Millers.
Zachary is in his second year of Spanish immersion, his teacher speaks in Spanish for half of the day. He is also studying French. Foreign languages are useful for the traveling he has been doing with his family. We all went to France and Kiental, Switzerland twice last year to teach music improvisation at the European branch of Music for People. Lynn got in an additional trip to Switzerland and Italy.
Eric bought trumpets for the whole family on the internet. Every night Zak and Eric have been blowing their hearts out. Eric's Uncle Walter is a jazz trumpet player and Eric and Zak hope to follow in his footsteps. Having only started in September, Zak can now play about 10 songs, a C scale and improvise to Santana! Progress continues on Ericıs Jazzgrass CD project.
Lynn organized people in Phoenixville to create a 200 square foot mosaic mural. She involved the community in the design process, making tiles and installation of the mural. Twelve politicians came out for the celebration! She also created a mural in Switzerland with physically disabled people helping with the design and installation, while Zak and Eric camped out in a tent by the lake at Yverdon Les Bains.
Eric continues to study in the Bryn Mawr College doctoral program in Social Work & Social Research. He finished his coursework and passed several prelim exams and an oral exam, with one re-take exam coming up in March prior to work on the dissertation. He continues a part time post at the college assisting faculty with instructional technology needs and maintaining the school website. Eric also maintains his private practice in biofeedback. He will be instructing Biofeedback and Music Therapy Research again at Immaculata University this Spring.
Most noteworthy however, were this yearıs badminton results following the 2002 senior nationals. Eric ended up with a ranking of US no. 10 in the senior 40 division!
Lynn continues to outreach with music therapy at assisted living homes. She also has a private practice in music therapy.
This summer Zak was ring bear for Aunt Andreaıs wedding. She finally decided to marry Uncle Richard. They had a June wedding in Mass. now Uncle Raoul is coming up next in August.
Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, prosperous and magical 2003!
