(Those of you viewing on the web are getting a sneak preview as we were late (again) sending out cards)- just get used to it!
Happy Holidays and a joyous millennium from Eric, Lynn and Zak Miller. 2000 was a year of academic achievement for all of us. Zak graduated Charlestown Playschool in the Spring, and went on to experience a couple months at the innovative Upattinas school in September, before moving on to the Kindergarten center in November. He loves his beginning reading tasks and doing his homework. He also moved on from the Star Wars fad to catch the PokŽmon bug, and is currently recovering from a highly speculative trade involving many of his holograhics and fire types. A common exclamation is "very insterating!" Zachary continues to enjoy chess as well as active sports like soccer and swimming.
Lynn graduated from Lesley University this Fall with her Masters in Expressive Therapy. After much struggle with completing the final paper, she produced a fascinating thesis on multi-modal work, which was highly acclaimed by her academic committee! Lynn instructed this year on Aviva Gold's teaching Staff in the Berkshires this Fall, and has been doing more teaching at Music For People events. Lynn and Eric accompanied story-teller Linda Goss at the fabulously renovated Colonial theatre in Phoenixville for a Chanukah, Christmas, Kuanzaa and Winter Solstice celebration show. Lynn created a masterful mosaic mural on our office entrance wall in August with tiling help from all family members.
Eric continues to study in the Bryn Mawr College doctoral program in Social Work & Social Research and is approaching his last few courses. He has taken on a part time post at the college assisting faculty with instructional technology needs and maintaining the school website. In March, Eric and Lucy Darlington reached the finals of the PA State Open Badminton Championships in mixed! Eric teamed with Lenard Kaye to win the senior menÕs doubles event. Over the summer, on a mission to upgrade his websites (and save thousands of dollars) for the Biofeedback Network and the Association for Integrative Medicine, Eric picked up a book on how to learn CGI programming with Perl 5 in a week, and started reading it on a family trip to Olympia, WA to visit Raoul and Jill. After two months the AIM site suddenly offered an exciting new On-line Barter Exchange system, and the Biofeedback Network started hosting the BioBAY Biofeedback Marketplace! Eric was invited to consult with a research project in Phila, studying the use of EEG biofeedback for ADHD kids as a non-drug alternative to Ritalin.
We all deeply felt the loss of Grandma Sophie who passed away at age 96 this year. We'll miss her a lot.
Eric and Lynn are very excited to be working with David Darling and Mary Knysh, on developing the new European arm of the Music For People program. We look forward to an inaugural event in Switzerland this summer.
Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, prosperous and magical 2001!
Happy Holidays Everybody!
